BJJ and Haiti

It’s been quite some time since I wrote anything on here so I’m gonna catch up a bit…2009 sucked ass. I’d say 7 out of the 12 months were pretty fucking horrendous…it felt like one long ass dentist appointment…not like a nice one either where you get good news…the one where the dentist scolds you like a fucking five year and treats your god damn teeth like bolts on a rim. So I have made up my mind 2010 is going to be a better year!!! Out with all the old crappy things that make me cringe and cry in my room and in with all the awesome things that make skip and sing and speak in rhyme…So to start this year off right I’m gonna tell you about a few things that are dope leaving out the things that I hate.

Thing that is dope: Brazilian Jiu Jitsu…so this year I started Brazilian Jiu Jitsu…which as most of you know is a type of martial art consisting of various submission and wrestling movements all used to beat the shit out of me for two hours. I boxed for a good amount of years and wrestled in high school but nothing has prepared me for this type of training. A lot of guys brag about how they beat the shit out of this guy or how they’ll take on anyone…fuck that, I will be the first to admit I get my ass handed to me 80% of the time I get on that mat, and whenever I do choke someone out it’s because I’m sitting on there face by accident or because I outweigh them by 80lbs...and I'd like to apologize the 15 year old boy with the broken wrist I beat up last week.

Other thing that is dope: the amount of help that is going to Haiti…. I try not to be cynical, but often times the world does suck ass but when horrendous things like the earthquake in Haiti happen it’s amazing how many people come together to help whether it’s donating or starting a clothing drive or even going there to volunteer. The argument that keeps on coming up is where were all these people at with New Orleans…I think it was then that people realized that we can’t leave it up to anyone else, and we have to be the change we want to see…and George W. needs Laura to turn on the hot and cold water to run his bath so we shouldn’t leave him to fix fucking levees…
